About The Position

At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), the Fleet & Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing fleet operations, facilities management, and related vendor programs to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations across all locations. This role leads the management of fleet assets, facilities infrastructure, and material handling equipment (MHE), while driving vendor consolidation, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset planning. The Fleet & Facilities Manager plays a critical role in improving operational efficiency, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing total cost of ownership across the organization. This leader exercises independent judgment regarding vendor selection, asset utilization, and operational priorities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in fleet management, facilities management, or asset management within a multi-site environment
  • Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and applicable regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives involving cost control, safety, and operational efficiency
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Experience with fleet management systems (e.g., Samsara) and asset tracking platforms (e.g., Holman) preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or building materials industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise the work of assigned employees while exercising meaningful authority over personnel decisions, including hiring, compensation, performance management, promotions, disciplinary action, and termination recommendations
  • Own overall fleet safety performance, compliance, and operational strategy while ensuring employees operate within those standards
  • Monitor and improve fleet safety scores in alignment with DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements, including IFTA and other reporting obligations through Samsara
  • Manage driver behavior and safety trends
  • Establish vehicle utilization and performance
  • Monitor driver safety scores
  • Partner with branch leadership to ensure consistent execution of fleet policies and compliance standards across all locations
  • Consolidate and manage all fleet, facilities, and equipment-related vendor agreements into a centralized structure
  • Establish standardized contract lifecycles, renewal schedules, and governance processes
  • Lead vendor consolidation initiatives to reduce cost, improve service levels, and streamline operations
  • Support development and execution of RFPs based on vendor footprint and spend analysis
  • Oversee lease programs and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved terms
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships while holding partners accountable for performance and service delivery
  • Oversee the lifecycle management of MHE assets across all facilities
  • Ensure all equipment is properly inventoried and tracked in systems (e.g., Holman)
  • Monitor utilization, maintenance schedules, and repair costs to optimize asset performance
  • Drive standardization of equipment and maintenance programs across locations
  • Analyze operational data and develop recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and improve equipment reliability
  • Make recommendations regarding capital expenditures and vendor performance
  • Responsible for interpreting and implementing operational compliance standards; promoting standardization and best practices across fleet, facilities, and equipment management
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs across all locations
  • Provide strategic recommendations for long-term asset replacement and capital planning
  • Ensure facilities are maintained in safe, compliant, and operationally efficient condition
  • Support site-level leadership in addressing facilities-related issues and improvement initiatives
  • Track and manage facilities spend, vendor relationships, and service agreements
  • Partner with Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Safety teams to align on asset management strategies
  • Serve as a key liaison between corporate functions and branch leadership on fleet and facilities matters
  • Ensure consistent communication and execution of policies, programs, and initiatives across all regions
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and corporate objectives
