  • Clear understanding of basic Texas DOT rules, driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs), and heavy equipment safety protocols.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (CDL is a major plus but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Run a strict routine service schedule (oil changes, blade rotations, belt adjustments, hydraulic line inspections) to maximize fleet availability.
  • Diagnose engine and hydraulic issues quickly, handle minor on-site repairs, and prepare equipment for specialized diesel or welding shops when needed.
  • Maintain a rigid sharpening and replacement loop for high-wear chipper blades and anvils to prevent premature structural wear on equipment.
  • Execute daily morning gate checks and afternoon post-trip inspections to ensure every crew rolls out safely and zero defects are ignored.
  • Manage the movement and staging of equipment to ensure job site velocity and minimize crew downtime across the Greater Houston area.
  • Monitor "Days Out of Service" and active field availability to ensure the field has maximum production power daily.
  • Utilize a smart mobile form system to log every repair, part used, and external vendor visit immediately upon completion.
  • Maintain clean, up-to-date truck folders and ensure all licensing, vehicle tags, and annual state inspections are 100% compliant.
  • Collect, organize, and submit parts and service invoices to the BizOps team weekly with perfect asset-number accuracy.
  • Run brief weekly field checks to coach truck drivers and tree crews on proper equipment care, fluid management, and daily greasing techniques.
  • Identify and flag crew negligence or field abuse of tools to protect company assets and curb avoidable repair expenses.
