About The Position

TCI Maintenance is expanding and is looking for an Experienced Body Shop Technician! This position is responsible for performing major truck and trailer component repair or replacement with minimal supervision. The technician will estimate vehicles for repairs, perform tear downs for inspection, and complete repairs in a timely manner, minimizing re-work. They will also assist lower-level technicians when needed. Technicians are measured on their efficiency in completing quality repairs within time standards. All employees are required to follow OSHA Federal, State, and Local regulatory and environmental laws.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Bodyshop technician.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required.
• Valid Driver's license required.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational/technical school preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer preferred.
• CDL with brake endorsements preferred or have the ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and estimate collision repair on cab assemblies, trailers, and bobtails.
• Use required PPE for the job.
• Perform composite repair/bonding.
• Repair accident-related damages to Heating/Air Conditioning Systems.
• Diagnose and Repair/Replace mechanical systems/parts or equipment related to collision.
• Repair/replace frame/structural assemblies on damaged trucks.
• Refinish repairs using clear coat basecoat/single stage paint system.
• Perform surface preparation.
• Complete understanding of refinish process and proper use of materials.
• Perform fiberglass repair and box repair/replacement.
• Perform suspension repair/alignment.
• Utilize Electrical/Brake/Cooling System experience for collision repair/replacement.
• Perform welding/fabricating.
• Other duties as instructed by Supervisor.
