About The Position

SRM Concrete, a national leader in ready mix concrete, is seeking an experienced Fleet Body Repair and Paint Technician to join their growing team. This role involves maintaining and restoring the company's fleet by performing body repairs, paint preparation, refinishing, and fabrication work. The company believes that its equipment reflects its commitment to excellence, and this technician will play a vital role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and longevity of the fleet. The ideal candidate will have experience in body repair, painting, welding, and working with a variety of materials.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in automotive, heavy truck, or fleet body repair and painting.
  • Knowledge of paint preparation, refinishing techniques, and surface repair.
  • Experience working with fiberglass, steel, aluminum, and other metals.
  • Ability to straighten and repair sheet metal components.
  • Familiarity with proper hazardous material handling and disposal procedures.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding, and shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a "Go-Getter" mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to complete SRM's pre-employment screenings.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screen, SRM's pre-employment physical, and consent to background checks where applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Frame machine experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform light to heavy-duty body repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Repair fiberglass components, including fenders and hoods, using two-part epoxy products.
  • Disassemble and reassemble mixer body components and related equipment.
  • Prepare surfaces for refinishing by sanding, masking, priming, and taping.
  • Perform body repairs and refinishing work to meet or exceed OEM standards.
  • Paint and refinish repaired areas to achieve a high-quality, professional finish.
  • Sand surfaces between coats of primer and paint to ensure proper adhesion and appearance.
  • Operate portable equipment such as ventilators, exhaust systems, ladders, and scaffolding safely and effectively.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and hazardous waste disposal practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with other shop duties and fleet maintenance projects as needed.
