About The Position

The Helper will assist the Machine Operator as needed throughout the shift. This role involves cutting straps, removing excess cardboard, operating warehouse equipment, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting with equipment maintenance and inventory. The position requires performing quality control on one's own work and supporting Machine Operators as necessary. Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
• Read and interpret product layout and production specifications.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to handle or feel.
• Frequently required to talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Cut all straps and remove all excess cardboard from sheets before entry into machine.
• Safely operate standard warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Maintain a clean work area, machine, tools and equipment.
• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain inventories of items needed by operator.
• Perform quality control on own work.
• Assist Machine Operators as necessary.
