About The Position

This role is responsible for assisting in the fabrication of parts, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring a safe and clean work area. The Flat Welder will perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance, complete production and quality documentation, and maintain acceptable weld appearance and production rates. The position requires the ability to operate a MIG welder and perform quality checks to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and production expectations.

  • Able to complete all documents pertaining to the process
  • Basic shop math (i.e. add/subtract/divide/multiply, whole numbers and fractions)
  • Read a tape measure to within 1/16”
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to read and understand all engineering prints related to the process
  • Able to determine good weld quality during the welding process and make correction as needed

Nice To Haves

  • A general understanding of common hand tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in other areas of the shop when needed
  • Maintain the required welder certification within the skill level
