About The Position

This hourly Union position, located in Mt Pleasant, PA, requires the operator to safely, effectively, and efficiently operate any of the Flash and Resistance Weld machines. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. There is a 60-day probation period. The starting pay is $25.00 per hour, increasing to $26.17 after successful completion of probation.

Requirements

Must have a high attention to detail
Ability and willingness to learn
Basic mechanical aptitude
Comfortable working with and handling hot materials associated with the resistance and flash welding process.

Nice To Haves

Certification in welding with 2 years’ experience AWS D1.1 or D14.1, API or MIG is preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate any of the Flash and Resistance Weld machines as the workload requires on a daily basis – U-3, 3/8” U-2, 1/2” U-2, Semi-Automatic Flash, and Automatic Flash.
Responsible for quality workmanship. The operator is held accountable for product weld and trim quality, as well as accurate assembly of machine welded chains and chain slings. The operator is responsible for assuring the quality of the product produced before it is moved to the next required operation.
Responsible for basic troubleshooting and tooling adjustments to assure product quality conformance.
Must learn and thoroughly understand the function of the machines, weld process, and variables which impact the process in a positive or negative manner.
Regular attendance, communication and meeting committed deadlines are all essential elements of the job. These requirements are key to the operation and effectiveness of this position and if not in place have the potential to impair and diminish expected result.
