About The Position

As a Flagging Foreperson, you will oversee traffic control operations and coordinate material logistics to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. You will be responsible for supervising a team of traffic control personnel, managing site logistics for material deliveries, and maintaining compliance with safety and traffic regulations. This role may involve the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support research, analysis, content development, design, reporting, or operational efficiency. Employees are expected to use AI responsibly and in compliance with company policies, data privacy requirements, confidentiality obligations, and applicable laws. All AI-generated or AI-assisted outputs must be reviewed for accuracy, quality, and appropriateness before use. Employees are also expected to disclose when AI tools have been used in the creation of work and must not present AI-generated content as solely their own original work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic control in urban environments.
  • Valid TCP Certificate
  • Valid Lane Closure Technician (LCT) Certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic control techniques, regulations, and equipment, including lane closure setup and removal procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and supervising lane closures on high-volume roadways and highways.
  • Proficient in using computer software and applications related to traffic management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in logistics coordination, material handling, or shipping/receiving preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of traffic controllers (Flaggers or TCPs), providing guidance, training, and performance oversight.
  • Develop, implement, and manage traffic control plans, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute lane closure operations in accordance with LCT standards, ensuring all closures are set up, maintained, and removed safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with project managers, sub-contractors, and local authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimal disruption to the public.
  • Conduct site assessments to identify potential traffic hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Perform traffic management field audits and ensure adherence to traffic control protocols, including lane closure procedures.
  • Monitor traffic conditions, respond to incidents, and make real-time adjustments to traffic control strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records, including incident reports, lane closure logs, equipment inventory, and staff attendance.
  • Keep equipment well organized, regularly maintained, and in working order.
