About The Position

The Flag Football Official is responsible for officiating youth and/or adult league games and tournaments. This position ensures fair play, enforces rules, and maintains a safe and positive environment for participants. The payrate for this position is $30/game.

Requirements

Must be at least thirteen (13) years old; candidates under sixteen (16) must have a valid work permit.
Knowledge of rules for applicable sport(s)
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, participants, and spectators.

Responsibilities

Officiate games and tournaments in accordance with league rules and Park District policies.
Make quick, impartial judgments and communicate decisions clearly to participants and coaches.
Maintain control of games, ensuring participant safety and sportsmanship.
Mentor and support less experienced officials.
Resolve conflicts effectively
Attend all required meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while on duty.
Work evenings and weekends as scheduled
Remain adaptable to learning and officiating new recreation activities as needed.
