About The Position

As our Fixed Maintenance Planner, you are responsible for all routine data entry and withdrawal associated with maintenance to keep our production going and our profitability up. Every day you will work at a mine on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. You will be in charge of maintaining equipment statistics, preparing maintenance reports, and procure warehouse stock in conjunction with maintenance needs. You will be called upon to work cooperatively with others as part of a team, and encourage collaboration, trust, and openness among employees. To thrive in this role, you will ensure high quality data is collected, and that the integrity of that data is kept intact. We’re on a remote island; you must know how to work independently, as well as identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. About Us The Greens Creek Mine, located on Admiralty Island 18 miles south of Juneau, is an underground polymetallic mine operating since 1989, employing approximately 500 people. The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Established in 1891, Hecla has a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge in fixed maintenance
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Maintenance trade school experience
  • Worked in planning and scheduling for fixed equipment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Current authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management Information System
  • Make decisions based on maintenance part life spans’, and understand the impact of cost, quality, and availability on the market
  • Refine the overall maintenance cycle by implementing a process-based maintenance program
  • Monitor and review standards and performance guidelines
  • Promote and personally observe safety procedures
