About The Position

Capital Group seeks bright, highly motivated, and self-directed MBA candidates for Fixed Income Investment Analyst summer associate opportunities in Los Angeles. The summer associate conducts fundamental research on issuers in a segment of the bond market and researches related fixed-income securities, with the objective of presenting an investment thesis and recommendation to portfolio managers and analysts. Analysis combines macro considerations—including political, economic, and sector or industry factors—with micro considerations such as issuer-specific financial, legal and structural, and security-specific factors. The associate synthesizes these considerations with bond valuations. An investment analyst guides the work, while the associate is largely self-directed in their approach and conclusions. The internship provides exposure to investment management, access to experienced investment professionals, and hands-on experience similar to that of a full-time analyst. Opportunities are available in Sovereign/Emerging Markets, Structured Investments (RMBS, CMBS, ABS), Corporate/Credit, and Municipal/Tax-Exempt. The position is based in Los Angeles. The listed monthly base is $13,000, with a monthly stipend of $4,500. Compensation and benefits information also references eligibility for individual and company profitability bonuses and a retirement plan with a company contribution of 15% of eligible earnings; temporary positions in the United States are excluded from the referenced compensation and benefit plans.
