About The Position

Packsize is seeking a self-motivated Fixed Asset Accountant to join our cohesive accounting team. You will support the day-to-day fixed asset accounting function, ensuring fixed asset additions, transfers, depreciation, and disposals are recorded accurately and timely. You will partner cross-functionally to maintain accurate asset records, support month-end close and audit activities, and help improve fixed asset processes and controls. Your ability to be a proactive problem-solver who takes ownership, anticipates needs, and drives results will be vital to your success in this role. You will play a key role in supporting Packsize’s innovative, problem-solving, solution-focused accounting team environment. This role reports to the Assistant Controller.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting principles and internal controls
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail paired with a sense of urgency and ownership
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, including fixed asset accounting experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software preferred (SAP experience is a plus)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, preferred
  • Experience in process improvement or automation projects is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation and ensure compliance with company policies related to capitalization, asset tracking, and asset disposition
  • Support month-end close activities related to fixed assets, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure proper classification and timely recording of capital expenditures
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor requests related to fixed assets
  • Participate in fixed asset process improvement initiatives and system implementations to increase efficiency
  • Research and resolve fixed asset discrepancies and accounting issues
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and special accounting projects as needed
  • Take ownership and demonstrate strong intuition by anticipating and resolving issues before they affect operations; provide updates to leadership as needed to ensure alignment
