The Expansion Joints Machinist is responsible for making parts ready for welding and fabrication.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
- Ability to read and understand all measuring devices.
- Ability to operate a lift truck.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare the operation.
- Select best method of machining to achieve desired tolerance, speed and finish.
- Perform calculation to form the work piece.
- Monitor the feed rate and speed of the machine.
- Select tools and materials for the job, plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations, and mark the work piece to show where cuts should be made.
- Perform the necessary machining & grinding operations using equipment including but not limited to: a Beveling Machine, Plasma Torch, Hand Grinder, Hand Torch, Chop Saw, and Pedestal Grinder.
- Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
