About The Position

Arcosa Shoring Products is seeking a 2nd shift Fitter/Welder Lead in Mason, MI. Arcosa Shoring Products manufactures trench shoring equipment for the construction industry, building high-quality trench shields and shoring products. This role involves leading employees, guiding and directing them, assisting in task completion to meet deadlines, maintaining and improving quality, and training lower-level employees.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of related experience
Ability to proficiently read blueprints
Ability to safely and efficiently perform all essential functions
Ability to follow directions and maintain a professional work environment
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work within a teamwork environment
Regular and predictable attendance
Ability to have and maintain a positive attitude

Responsibilities

Lay out, position, align and fit together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding.
Tack-weld pieces together.
Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints schematics and sketches using manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment.
May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
Observe all standard safety practices and maintain and complete all required records.
Follow all safety rules and practices.
May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Lead employees by guiding and directing.
Assist in completion of all tasks to meet deadlines.
Maintain and improve quality.
Train lower level employees.
