About The Position

DIHO Consulting USA is seeking an experienced Fitter Class A for an industrial fabrication opportunity in Channelview, Texas. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands-on experience fitting and assembling heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, or similar heavy industrial equipment. This position requires advanced blueprint-reading, layout, measurement, fabrication, and fit-up skills. The selected candidate must be able to work independently, maintain tight tolerances, and ensure that components are assembled according to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of industrial fitting experience
  • Direct experience fitting heat exchangers or pressure vessels strongly required
  • Advanced ability to read fabrication blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with vessel layout, component alignment, and dimensional verification
  • Knowledge of welding preparation, fit-up tolerances, and fabrication processes
  • Ability to use tape measures, levels, squares, calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, grinders, cutting tools, and rigging equipment
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, lift, and perform physically demanding work throughout the shift
  • Reliable transportation to Channelview
  • Ability to pass required background and drug screenings

Nice To Haves

  • Experience fitting both heat exchangers and pressure vessels
  • Welding or tack-welding experience
  • Previous refinery, petrochemical, vessel-shop, or heavy-fabrication experience
  • NCCER, OSHA, rigging, forklift, or related industrial certifications
  • Experience working from ASME-related fabrication drawings and specifications

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret fabrication blueprints, vessel drawings, shop drawings, and welding symbols
  • Fit and assemble heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, shells, heads, nozzles, flanges, channels, and related components
  • Perform layout, measuring, leveling, squaring, aligning, and marking of materials
  • Prepare components through cutting, grinding, beveling, drilling, and surface preparation
  • Position and fit components before welding
  • Perform tack welding when qualified and required
  • Verify dimensions, angles, tolerances, and alignment using precision measuring tools
  • Use come-alongs, chain falls, clamps, jacks, cranes, and other rigging equipment
  • Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and other industrial materials
  • Inspect completed fit-ups for compliance with drawings and quality requirements
  • Coordinate with welders, supervisors, quality-control personnel, and other fabrication team members
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and job-site safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Work overtime, weekends, or night shift when production needs require
