About the role Fitness Supervisor – Crosby, MN The Hallett Center, managed by HealthFitness, is looking for a Fitness Supervisor who’s excited to lead, inspire, and make a real impact in the Crosby community; located approximately 20 minutes NE of Brainerd. This hands‑on leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee a diverse mix of programming—from group exercise and personal training to aquatics, youth programs, and summer camp operations—all under one roof. Full-time, 40 hours/week Schedule: Monday-Friday, blend of opening, midday and closing shifts between the hours of 5a – 8p. Occasional Saturday shift approximately 6-10 times per year for special events. Responsible for coordinating, implementing, and/or delivering health and fitness programs and services, promotions, and community outreach activities. Also be responsible for providing outstanding service to members & program participants in order to maximize participation, outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology, Recreation or related field or the equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
  • A minimum of one year of practical experience in a professional fitness/wellness setting.
  • Current Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety & Health Institute; required within 30 days of start date. (Note: certification must have an in-person component and not 100% online/OSHA compliant)
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification required within 2-4 months of hire.
  • Personal Training certification from an industry recognized and HealthFitness approved provider required within 90 days of hire.
  • Industry recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA may be required.
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize and manage programs and activities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Overall supervision of fitness room, group fitness studio and equipment.
  • Maintains a safe, clean environment for members including cleaning, scheduling maintenance of equipment, adhering to current precautions.
  • Provides individual and group exercise instruction; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness. This includes in-person and establishing virtual fitness offerings.
  • Promotes program offerings, plans, and implements community recreational activities including, but not limited to, youth sports, summer camp, swim lessons, special events, etc.
  • Oversees the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of part-time employees.
  • Conducts fitness testing and assessments and advises participants of results; designs individualized programs to meet the participant’s interests, abilities, and goals.
  • Participates in membership drives to acquire new participants; enrolls new participants and conducts facility, program, and equipment orientations.
  • Oversees and is responsible for area specific budgets including tracking participation, expenses, revenue generation and debt retirement of equipment.
  • Other duties as needed/assigned.
