POSITION SUMMARY The Halekulani swimming pool overlooking Waikiki Beach with its iconic 1.2 million glass tile Cattleya Orchid is the focal point for our guests’ daytime activities. As an essential part of the pool leadership team, the Pool Supervisor supports the Pool Manager in the day to day operation and will inspire their team to provide world class service while creating a safe environment for our guests and employees. The Pool Supervisor is a guest centric leader who possess excellent judgment and problem resolution skills, is proactive and constantly looks for ways to innovate and enhance the Halekulani pool experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
Any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position
CPR and First Aid (required)
Ability to anticipate guest needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
Command of both verbal and nonverbal communication skills
Organizational skills
Strong swimmer
Ability to relate to people – leadership, coworkers, guests, employees and vendors
Must be able to bend, lift, push, pull, and carry
Must be able to transport a minimum of 75 lbs
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in the outdoors under various weather conditions

Responsibilities

Oversees the successful daily operation of the pool
Maintains a safe, secure and relaxing environment for all guests
Ensures uncompromising levels of cleanliness
Is responsible for leading all areas of the pool operation in the absence of the Pool Manager
Takes ownership of all guest opportunities and follow-up to ensure guest engagement and retention
Handles all employee and guest related issues in a timely manner
Conducts daily shift briefings with employees to keep them informed of the ‘on goings’ of the hotel
Promotes a work environment of team work, mutual respect and open communication
Assists with regular inventory control of equipment, furniture and linen
Assists with regular safety inspections
Notifies senior leadership and Security of all guest and employee incidents and injuries
Assists with weekly scheduling
Attends all meetings as necessary including daily AM and PM briefings
Actively participates in and leads Pool Departmental Meetings
Fosters a work environment that embraces learning and development
Promotes positive interdepartmental relationships
Conducts regular training for Pool Attendants that will enhance the guest experience and provides “just in time” feedback to ensure all Halekulani Standards are met
Upholds the expectations set forth in the Halekulani Employee Handbook and grooming guidelines
Possesses in depth knowledge of all hotel and Pool features, services, and hours of operation
Possesses in depth knowledge of the hotel and Pool policies and procedures
Provides guests with poolside/ beach towel services
Ensures guest amenities are delivered as scheduled throughout the day
Provides a safe swimming environment for both children and adults through attentive supervision
Provides maintenance for the care and cleaning of Pool equipment, furniture and Pool deck
Uses guest name in a familiar manner when given the opportunity
Takes responsibility for guest inquiries and opportunities
Inspires a “Go to the Guest” and “Love to Serve” approach to service
Maintains an enthusiastic attitude with guests and co-workers
Perform all other duties as may be required or assigned
