About The Position

Essential Responsibilities: Greets and communicates with all staff and members in a warm, courteous, and prompt manner and ensures prompt and courteous service to members by all employees of the department. Hires and trains fitness attendants and front desk staff with an emphasis on creating knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly staff members who desire to engage and assist members and guests with their needs. Communicates clearly and efficiently with employees, receives information and feedback from employees and members, and takes action based on observations and information received across all levels within the organization. Evaluates work procedures, reviews standards, and identifies methods for increasing efficiency and/or effectiveness. Executes SOP documents to ensure proper protocol is followed. Ensures that all checklists within the department are followed and that staff is clear on protocols Responds proactively to any needs that arise from members, employees, or guests. Communicates pertinent information to employees, such as operational issues and class or schedule changes. Follows safety guidelines described in the operating procedures. Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures. Takes weekly inventory of all supplies and reports needs to the fitness manager. Ensures that all fitness equipment is neat, clean, and member-ready at all times. Reports all maintenance needs to the fitness manager promptly. Performs all duties in the fitness attendant and front desk staff job description. Performs all other duties as assigned Creates and monitors staff schedule. Covers shifts when necessary. Ensures fitness center check-in polices and all rules are followed. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Prefer knowledge of operations in a club environment. CPR, First Aid, and AED certification is preferred, but can be obtained within 30 days of hire date.
