FOX Rehabilitation•Fort Wayne, IN

About The Position

FOX Rehabilitation is hiring a Fitness Specialist to lead group exercise and personal training for older adults at a Senior Living Community in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role is suited to a personal trainer, exercise science graduate, or certified fitness professional interested in healthy aging, fall prevention, and functional fitness for seniors. This is a part-time position of approximately four hours per week, with the opportunity to grow the caseload and hours. The Fitness Specialist serves as the primary wellness professional embedded in a Senior Living Community, delivering evidence-based fitness programming through group classes, one-on-one personal training, and partner training sessions. The current schedule includes a 30-minute exercise class Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. The position works alongside FOX Physical and Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists. The specialist builds relationships with residents and clinicians, supports referrals from FOX’s skilled therapy team as patients transition out of rehabilitation, and may travel to patient residences for house-call sessions or expand into additional communities as the territory grows. FOX describes its practice as clinician-operated and focused on meaningful relationships, evidence-based care, and abolishing ageism. The role offers opportunities in senior living and in-home settings, potential telehealth or virtual care components, and an interdisciplinary, community-based environment supporting independence, wellness, and longevity.
