The Fitness Specialist manages operations of the fitness center located at a senior high-rise and coordinates with group fitness instructors and other staff. The Fitness Specialist is responsible for monitoring the floor, providing one-on-one appointments (personal training), providing population-specific health classes, and presenting educational materials in a public speaking setting. Other detailed duties include providing education sessions to residents and staff on the benefits of program services, actively marketing and promoting program services to increase enrollment, completing the enrollment and medical screening process for each participant, coordinating and administering individual exercise program consultations based on current ACSM/AHA guidelines, providing instruction and orientation to members on proper use of center equipment, tracking and reporting fitness center usage, providing group exercise class instruction and specialty programs, maintaining materials such as gym wipes and sanitizer, performing light cleaning duties of the fitness and exercise room, staying up-to-date with the latest research and educational materials, making the well-being of residents a top priority, creating a holistic approach by collaborating with the Pastor and Service Coordinator to establish a calendar of activities, targeting intellectual and emotional dimensions of wellness, learning and executing the use of the in-house live-streaming system, knowing how to use the main broadcasting system, creating content for the newsletter, using Canva for designing visually appealing content, and updating the Message Board monthly. The role requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.
