About The Position

The Fitness Receptionist is responsible for greeting guests, providing excellent customer service, assisting members, and ensuring the facility is accessed only by authorized individuals. This role involves efficient handling of cash, making reservations, looking up information, and maintaining the facility. The receptionist also enrolls members in programs and assists staff with equipment and event preparation.

Requirements

  • Ability to work: Early mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication, customer service skills, and work ethic.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic.
  • Strong team player.
  • Proficient with computers or quick learner.
  • Ability to concentrate, take the initiative, cope with stress, and adapt to and stay alert in a business environment.
  • Ability to speak, hear, see, and walk more than 2 miles daily.
  • Ability to stand and sit on the floor.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Customer service experience

Responsibilities

  • Greet each guest with a smile and conversation to foster community.
  • Provide excellent customer service, assist members, and answer guest inquiries.
  • Ensure the facility is only accessed by active members and/or approved guests.
  • Handle cash efficiently and accurately.
  • Go the extra mile for members and guests by offering to make reservations, find directions, look up phone numbers, etc.
  • Use time efficiently throughout the shift by checking equipment, locker rooms, inventory, etc.
  • Ensure proper coverage when it’s necessary to leave the reception area.
  • Inform co-worker(s) of pertinent information at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain and update staff communication book.
  • Inform facility manager on duty of any member, guest, or facility issues.
  • Enroll members and guests in programs.
  • Assist staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain the facility and prepare for special events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
