About The Position

Join our team as a Fitness Manager, a dynamic, driven professional who will play a critical role in the grand opening of Emerson Lakes, one of Erickson Senior Living’s most anticipated new communities in beautiful Lakewood Ranch, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily operations of all resident and employee Fitness programs. Programs include the Fitness Health Club, Aquatic Center, and educational programs and services throughout the community. Emerson Lakes will be a premier, state-of-the-art continuing care retirement community designed to serve more than 1,500 residents across Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Memory Care. This gated community will feature an impressive array of amenities, including multiple restaurants, a stunning outdoor swimming pool, a cutting-edge fitness center, an onsite medical center, and much more. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience is required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Current certification and membership of at least one nationally recognized organization (i.e. ACSM, ACE, IDEA, SFA) are strongly preferred.
  • Please note that specific state regulations and requirements may be applicable. These regulations take precedence over the requirements outlined in the job description.
  • The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) requires all new hires to successfully complete and pass an extensive Level 2 background screening, which covers U.S. Federal, State and City checks (submitting fingerprints), prior to the start of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents and employees physical, spiritual, and emotionally by supervising and attending to their fitness needs in a friendly, polite, and professional manner
  • Evaluate, correct and instruct residents on proper exercise techniques
  • Prescribe flexibility, cardiovascular, and strength training exercises.
  • Develops and manages department budget
  • Coordinate and maintain membership information, inventories, purchasing, scheduling, timesheets, safety inspections, and other administrative matters.
  • Maintain records and statistics regarding all residents and employees involved in fitness programs and promotes retention.
