About The Position
Performance Academies is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Fitness Instructor to join our team at Eastland Performance Academy. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid Ohio teaching license.
- Successful completion of required state and federal background checks.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons aligned with state standards and the school's fitness curriculum.
- Teach sport-specific skills with an emphasis on soccer, tennis, martial arts, and overall physical fitness.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of student performance.
- Prepare students for school fitness competitions and tournaments.
- Supervise students at all times and ensure student safety.
- Implement positive behavior management strategies and school discipline policies.
- Support the needs of students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and behavior plans in collaboration with intervention staff.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages respect, teamwork, and healthy habits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fitness space.
- Manage and maintain fitness equipment inventory.
- Assist with school-wide events, fitness competitions, and assigned duties such as lunch or bus supervision.
