About The Position

Houston Fitness Partners, an independently owned Planet Fitness franchisee, is seeking a Fitness Instructor to support its welcoming, non-intimidating “Judgment Free Zone.” The role delivers the Planet Fitness PE@PF group fitness program and creates simple workout programs when requested. It also supports members and prospective members with a safe, helpful club experience, including front-desk assistance, phone inquiries, membership tours, and regular cleaning and sanitizing. The instructor may be required to work at any Planet Fitness location within the Houston Fitness Partners franchise.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be willing to obtain CPR/AED certification before employment and maintain it while employed.
• Must hold a current Nationally Certified Training Certificate and maintain it while employed.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal direction and supervision.
• Punctual, dependable, and committed to a solid work ethic.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

• 6–12 months of prior fitness instruction experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct the Planet Fitness PE@PF group fitness program and design simple workout programs as requested.
• Encourage new and current members to join fitness classes.
• Maintain a safe workout environment for members.
• Evaluate individuals’ abilities, needs, and physical conditions and develop suitable programs for special requirements.
• Monitor participant progress and adapt programs as needed.
• Greet members and guests as they enter and exit; assist with questions, check-ins, sign-ups, contact or billing updates, and cancellations.
• Answer phones promptly and provide friendly, knowledgeable, and accurate information.
• Use communication and problem-solving skills to resolve customer concerns and provide a positive experience.
• Make calls to prospective members and conduct tours to assess their membership needs.
• Clean and sanitize the club and equipment regularly, for up to 50% of the shift.
• Work at any Planet Fitness location within the Houston Fitness Partners franchise, as required.
