About The Position

Allaire Crossing, a Springpoint Senior Living affordable housing community in Wall Township, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced part-time Fitness Instructor to promote health and wellness in HUD affordable housing communities. The instructor provides customer service while supervising and leading community fitness activities, group classes, and wellness programs. The role includes teaching exercise and cognitive activities, providing health and wellness education, maintaining program records and equipment, and participating in staff meetings and LivWell training.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR certified or eligible to become CPR certified within the first 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

A college or university degree and/or nationally recognized certification in a health, fitness, or wellness-related field.
Experience in an active older adult retirement community, physical therapy department, or medical- or hospital-based fitness program.

Responsibilities

Train, teach, lead, or instruct residents in exercise classes, cognitive exercises, and health and wellness education, individually or in groups.
Understand and follow policies and procedures for data collection and technology platforms and communication and scheduling tools used for LivWell programs.
Maintain records of residents’ attendance and engagement in LivWell programming.
Complete shift assignments, which may include setting up and breaking down the community room and cleaning and maintaining equipment.
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and LivWell training sessions.
Keep required certifications and fitness and wellness continuing education units current, including training offered through the LivWell program.
Work with community individuals, agencies, and organizations to promote understanding of the community, its mission, vision, and values.
