Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Recognized competency in field of instructional expertise.
- Ability to act in a resident’s best interest and make responsible choices and decisions.
- Ability to lead activities and motivate residents and fellow team members for their involvement in the planned group instruction.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to facilitate small group presentations.
- Organization and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Windows, Outlook, and Excel) and the ability to learn new applications.
Responsibilities
- Teach scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down.
- Instructs residents on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
- Assists residents, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for residents and class participants.
- Keeps supervisor informed of resident and facility needs.
- Ensures that safety standards are met, and that department and facility policies are adhered to.
- Performs related duties as required.
