About The Position

The Victory Club is seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, and personable Fitness Instructor & Personal Trainer to join their team and become an important part of their vibrant 55+ active-living community. This is an excellent earning opportunity for a motivated fitness professional who wants to build a successful career through a combination of personal training and group fitness instruction. The role involves leading group fitness classes, providing personalized training, building relationships with members, developing programs, and demonstrating proper equipment use. The position is located in a beautiful, resort-style active-living community in Victory at Verrado, where members are active and committed to maintaining their health and independence. The Fitness Instructor & Personal Trainer will build relationships, inspire members, develop programs, and become a trusted part of their active lifestyle, making a genuine difference in people's lives while building a successful fitness career.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (4-year degree) in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health & Fitness, or a related field.
  • Current certification from ACSM, NASM, ACE, or NSCA.
  • Background or experience in geriatric physiology, senior fitness, functional fitness, strength & mobility training, or exercised programming for older adults.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain certifications required by the club.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper and safe use of exercise equipment.
  • Ability to lift 45-pound weight plates.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a variety of group fitness classes in a safe, enthusiastic, and engaging manner.
  • Provide personalized fitness training based on individual member goals, abilities, and needs.
  • Build positive, lasting relationships with members and encourage them to remain active and engaged in their fitness journey.
  • Evaluate existing programs and recommend modifications or develop new programs based on member interests, needs, and current fitness trends.
  • Demonstrate proper and safe use of fitness equipment and exercise techniques.
  • Encourage members to take advantage of the many health, wellness, recreation, and lifestyle opportunities available throughout The Victory Club.
  • Stay informed about club programs, activities, events, and seminars so you can help members enjoy the complete Victory Club experience.
  • Participate in club events, activities, and educational seminars as requested.
  • Maintain current knowledge of exercise, health, wellness, and fitness industry trends.
  • Follow all club policies and safety procedures.
  • Report incidents or accidents to the Athletic Director or Clubhouse Manager.
  • Help maintain a safe, secure, clean, and welcoming fitness environment.
  • Assist with moving and storing fitness equipment, furniture, and products when needed for daily operations or special events.
  • Contribute ideas and energy to an environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the athletic director, fitness team, and other departments to provide an exceptional member experience.
