About The Position

HealthFitness is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Fitness Floor Attendant to join their team at a premier corporate fitness center in Washington, DC. In this role, you'll help create an exceptional member experience by providing a welcoming atmosphere, maintaining a safe and organized fitness floor, assisting members with general fitness center needs, and supporting daily operations. As a valued member of the team, you'll play an important role in fostering a positive and engaging environment where members can achieve their health and wellness goals. This position is ideal for individuals seeking a flexible schedule, as shifts are available on an as-needed basis during facility operating hours of 5:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Additionally, there may be opportunities to earn extra income by providing coverage at other HealthFitness-managed sites throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area!

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Adult CPR/AED certifications from the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the American Safety & Health Institute will be required.
  • First Aid certification will be required within first 30 days of hire.
  • Physical demands require having the ability to lift up to 40 lb. weights for restacking.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.
  • Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior fitness and customer service experience strongly preferred.
  • Computer application knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing exercise floor supervision and interacting with members and program participants within the fitness center.
  • Interacts with participants and monitors equipment and participant safety.
  • Welcomes members by greeting, answering questions, responding to requests while at front desk and input data into membership system.
  • Performs facility maintenance responsibilities; ensures facility, equipment and locker rooms are clean and always stocked.
  • Understand and execute the Emergency Medical Procedures throughout the facility.
  • Demonstrate and instruct on the proper use of exercise equipment.
