About The Position

Equinox is seeking self-motivated, responsible, hard-working, punctual, organized Fitness Equipment Service Technicians with excellent communication skills to deliver superior, top-shelf club support. This position serves our clubs by repairing, maintaining, and servicing commercial fitness equipment. This position reports to our Manager of Fitness Equipment Repair.

Requirements

  • Extreme knowledge to perform general fitness equipment repairs.
  • Electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with electronic boards.
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Service Channel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Must have mechanics tools.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, and should be able to work nights and/or weekends.
  • Ability to manage time tables and meet deadlines.
  • Perform overtime as required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years as a fitness equipment repair technician, within the health club/hotel/hospitality industry.
  • Experience working as a member of a team and in an environment consistent with meeting departmental goals.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lift, slide, or move up to 100 pounds and bend frequently.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding customer service requirements.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Must have a legal right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general fitness equipment repairs including treadmill belt replacements, small drive motor repairs, understanding voltage readings on all components, replacing equipment consoles, and performing stationary bike calibrations.
  • Perform all troubleshooting and diagnostics of fitness equipment.
  • Communicate intelligently and professionally with General Managers, Assistant General Managers, Maintenance Managers, and all club staff.
  • Manage parts inventory.
  • Use all tools, equipment, and materials used for repairs.
  • Work within a predetermined geographical location and accept assigned repair tickets.
  • Leave the club with equipment working or communicate explicitly any challenges.
  • Take responsibility for actions and results.
  • Fill out reports and paperwork as needed to complete daily job tasks.
  • Maintain inventory levels and work within the clubs' assigned fitness equipment repair budget.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times and within Equinox standards.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and adhere to assigned performance protocols.
  • Provide detailed feedback to the Fitness Equipment Repair Manager on any and all challenges in the field.
  • Actively assist the team in the completion of goals and cost savings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
