The Fitness Director is responsible for the overall leadership, operation, programming, and member experience of the Fitness Center, swimming pool, and racquet sports facilities at Riverton Pointe Golf & Country Club. This role oversees all aspects of the club's fitness and wellness operations, including staff leadership and development, member engagement, group fitness and wellness programming, personal training services, and facility standards. The Fitness Director is committed to creating a welcoming, hospitality-driven environment that promotes health, wellness, and exceptional service while ensuring all programs and facilities reflect the high standards and expectations of a premier private club. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a passion for fitness and wellness, strong operational and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to inspire both team members and club members. This position plays a key role in enhancing the overall member lifestyle experience by delivering innovative programming, fostering meaningful relationships, and maintaining a safe, professional, and inviting fitness environment.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Personal Trainer or Group Fitness Instructor through a nationally recognized organization such as NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or an equivalent certification.
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (required).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive leadership and management experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, or private club operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing fitness facilities, wellness programming, personal training, and group fitness operations.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills with the ability to motivate and mentor staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for delivering exceptional member service.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required to meet club and member needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fitness scheduling or club management software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a welcoming, professional, and hospitality-driven environment that delivers an exceptional fitness and wellness experience for members and guests.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Fitness Center, swimming pool, spa, tennis, and pickleball programming.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive schedule of group fitness classes, personal training services, wellness programs, and special events.
  • Introduce innovative fitness and wellness initiatives that align with member demographics, interests, and the club's lifestyle offerings.
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, schedule, and supervise fitness staff, personal trainers, and group fitness instructors.
  • Ensure the Fitness Center and related wellness facilities are clean, organized, safe, and operating at the highest standards.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, repair, and replacement of fitness equipment in partnership with the General Manager.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety policies, emergency procedures, and risk management practices.
  • Prepare and manage the department's operating budget, including payroll, expenses, programming costs, and revenue goals.
  • Develop, promote, and deliver personal training services, group fitness programs.
  • Build strong relationships with members by providing outstanding customer service and proactively responding to member needs and feedback.
  • Monitor participation levels, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend improvements to enhance the overall member experience.
  • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings.
  • Support club events, tournaments, wellness activities, and other special functions as directed by the General Manager.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
