About The Position

The Fitness Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the fitness staff and assisting in coordinating fitness related services to members and guests of the center. He/she ensures that fitness department associates are providing the highest level of customer service to members, guests and prospects of the facility. The Fitness Coordinator supports the Fitness Manager in the overseeing of daily fitness operations of all fitness related services. This role is at West Wood Health & Fitness Center, managed by Power Wellness Management, a company that specializes in managing state-of-the-art medically integrated health and fitness centers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university in a health-related, exercise science, kinesiology, or physical education major required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the fitness/wellness industry required, preferably in a fitness facility.
  • Nationally recognized NCCA accredited certification required.
  • CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness)
  • Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service based manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • ACSM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction and oversight to fitness associates as it relates to all duties and responsibilities as outlined in the fitness associate’s job descriptions.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage on the fitness floor at all times.
  • Responsible for monitoring maintenance of all equipment and informing the Fitness Manager of any needs.
  • Assist with member retention by encouraging the development of member retention programs on a consistent basis.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with all physician approval and clearance procedures, testing procedures and medically-integrated programs.
  • Assist with all mock codes, safety drills and monthly safety audits in compliance with Power Wellness standards.
  • Have the ability to perform all the duties outlined in the Fitness Specialist and Personal Training job description as needed.
  • Assist with hiring and training all Fitness department associates.
  • Work Manager on Duty shifts as assigned.
  • The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to center hours, work schedules and scheduling appointments for prospects and members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
