Fitness Childcare Attendant
About The Position
The Schultz Campus, located in Akron, provides various services to the community. The Shaw JCC, our community center on campus, offers aquatics, fitness, and childcare. We are seeking mature individuals to provide childcare services, allowing members to focus on their fitness routines. The childcare attendant will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM and should enjoy interacting with children of various ages. This role also involves engaging children of all ages and developmental stages with age-appropriate activities and building rapport with each child. If you love children and have the flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, or evenings, we have a place for you.
Requirements
- Mature individual
- Availability on Monday/Wednesday from 4:30pm - 7:30pm
- Enjoy spending time with children of various ages
- Comfortable communicating to parents regarding special care needs, allergies and providing feedback about the child’s visit.
- Comfortable confirming parent/guardian location within building and phone number for emergency purposes.
- Ability to provide comfort to child, when needed, if separation issues arise.
- Responsible for changing diapers, bottle feeding, and napping, as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring the entire room is neat, clean, and sanitized, as well as all toys.
- Ability to engage with children of all ages and developmental stages with age-appropriate activities.
- Ability to develop a rapport with each child.
- Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, or evenings.
Responsibilities
- Greet parent and child with enthusiasm and make them feel welcomed.
- Confirm reservations and track payment by viewing receipt or marking childcare passes. Also track late pick-ups to charge accordingly.
- Communicate with parents regarding special care needs, allergies, and provide feedback about the child’s visit.
- Confirm parent/guardian location within the building and phone number for emergency purposes.
- Provide comfort to child, when needed, if separation issues arise.
- Change diapers, bottle feed, and assist with napping, as needed.
- Ensure the entire room is neat, clean, and sanitized, as well as all toys.
- Engage with children of all ages and developmental stages with age-appropriate activities.
- Develop a rapport with each child.
