About The Position

Under direct supervision of the department management team, performs customer service duties for assigned facilities. Monitors participant activities, issues equipment, and provides program information to customers. This role involves promoting facilities, programs, and services, processing registrations, and responding to inquiries and complaints. The position also includes distributing equipment, cleaning assigned areas and equipment, opening and closing facilities, and monitoring participant compliance with health and safety rules. Specific duties may vary based on assignment, including roles in Youth Services, Camp Counseling, and Sports & Fitness.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old (exception: 18 years of age for Frisco Heritage Center).
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must pass an MVR check, if applicable.
  • May be required to possess a valid State of Texas Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of customer service practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and related equipment, hardware, and software.
  • Knowledge of City policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of money handling practices and procedures.
  • Skill in oral and written communications.
  • Skill in monitoring departmental health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Skill in resolving customer complaints and concerns.
  • Skill in implementing departmental rules, procedures, and objectives.
  • Must possess current CPR and First Aid Certification within six months from date of employment.
  • Must be able to perform CPR and/or first aid as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (Youth Services, Camp Counselor).
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds (Sports & Fitness).

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service to all participants in activities and programs.
  • Processes guest registrations and facility rentals using department software.
  • Promotes all facilities, programs, and services.
  • Responds to inquiries and complaints related to programs, services, and special events.
  • Distributes equipment to customers and cleans assigned areas and equipment.
  • Opens and closes facilities according to established policies and procedures.
  • Monitors facility activities for participant compliance with health and safety rules.
  • Prepares accident and/or injury incident reports when required.
  • Attends training and meetings as required.
  • Works extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events.
  • Provides a clean, well-maintained, and safe playroom area (Youth Services).
  • Provides an entertaining and stimulating environment for children (Youth Services).
  • Monitors children's activities to ensure their safety (Youth Services).
  • Cleans, disinfects, and maintains playroom areas, toys, and equipment (Youth Services).
  • Maintains accurate records on all children, including medical forms and releases (Youth Services).
  • Ensures children are signed in and out by parents and records all incidents (Youth Services).
  • Provides age-appropriate activities and encourages play (Youth Services).
  • Prepares rooms for parties, including setting out food and supplies (Youth Services).
  • Assists guests in serving food and party favors (Youth Services).
  • Responsible for clean-up and restocking after parties (Youth Services).
  • Ensures a non-competitive, positive, self-image enhancing environment for participants (Camp Counselor).
  • Directs activities that provide equal opportunity for all children (Camp Counselor).
  • Prepares activity directions, daily schedules, and required equipment (Camp Counselor).
  • Exhibits enthusiasm for activities to create excitement (Camp Counselor).
  • Follows procedures for camper check-in/check-out (Camp Counselor).
  • Completes reports for accidents/incidents, behavioral modifications, and camp schedules (Camp Counselor).
  • Promotes safety and proper storage of equipment, including inventory of supplies (Camp Counselor).
  • Ensures safety of youth during transportation on field trips (Camp Counselor).
  • Adheres to established guidelines for safety, behavior, communication, and discipline (Camp Counselor).
  • Recognizes and rewards positive behavior and accomplishments of participants (Camp Counselor).
  • Ensures participants use equipment safely and appropriately (Sports & Fitness).
  • Provides information and demonstrations on proper equipment usage (Sports & Fitness).
  • Monitors games for adult sports leagues and inputs scores online (Sports & Fitness).
  • Assists with organizing team rosters and league officials during games (Sports & Fitness).
