We’re Looking for a Fitness assistant/Instructor in Senior Living As the Fitness assistant, you assist the Social Director and run daily exercises and wellness class for our seniors in assisted living, Memory care, and skilled members. Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Willingness to learn and implement wellness.
  • Assist Wellness Director with award winning classes.
  • Work with residents to live longer, healthier, happier lives.
  • Maintain HIPPA standard.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Ability to use Electronic Records and miscellaneous software and office equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains HIPAA standards and regards all medical or healthcare information pertaining to residents and employees as confidential.
  • Implements standards of exercise, wellness and senior health on the campus while operating the wellness components in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the governing body in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Designs and leads fitness based classes specific to the campus population. Instructs classes or routines based on the determined level, health and mobility of the resident in order for the resident to gain in physical / mental health or to maintain current physical or mental status.
  • Ensures the safety and proper progression of residents participating in all responsible classes.
  • Maintains daily attendance records for all classes and progression of residents participating in the classes instructed. Reports this data to the Wellness Director.
  • Assists residents in transferring or ambulating as necessary to participate in wellness classes.
  • Participates in and attends all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.
