About The Position

Planet Fitness is seeking a Full-Time Fitness Ambassador to be the energy and welcome of the club. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals who are outgoing, friendly, and love being around others, creating positive vibes. The Fitness Ambassador is the first hello, the go-to helper, the motivator, and the friendly face that keeps members coming back. This role offers a great starting point for a career in fitness, leadership, or wellness, with no prior experience required, just great energy and a people-first mindset. The Fitness Ambassador will connect with members, keep the club buzzing with positive energy, promote programs, and help maintain a clean and motivating environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or fitness preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently
• Passion for fitness and helping others; willingness to learn basic training techniques (certification not required but encouraged)
• Must complete fitness training certification (NCSF) and manufacturer specific equipment training within 90 days of hire
• Must be able to perform and demonstrate a wide range of exercises, including strength, cardio, and flexibility movements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (often 4–8 hours per shift) while engaging with members on the fitness floor
• Capability to lift, move, and safely adjust fitness equipment weighing up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Greet members with enthusiasm and make everyone feel welcome
• Be a visible, approachable presence on the fitness floor
• Assist with check-ins, questions, and member needs
• Promote programs, events, and club offerings
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and motivating environment
• Build relationships — know names, celebrate wins, and encourage progress
• Facilitate PE@PF fitness programs and assist members with fitness programs through the Planet Fitness App
• Provide orientation and guidance to new members on basic workout routines and equipment use
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of cardio, strength, and functional training equipment (training provided)
• Assist members with proper equipment use and safe techniques
• Support member retention by building rapport and encouraging positive workout experiences
• Engage with members on the fitness floor to provide encouragement and support
• Promote club programs, personal training services, and special events
• Assist with member check-ins, club tours, info calls, account inquiries, and membership updates
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of equipment, locker rooms, and high-touch areas
• Conduct light maintenance checks (changing pads, screws/nuts/bolts, lubing rods, etc.) and promptly report any issues
• Maintain a safe, organized, and visually appealing club environment
