About The Position

We are looking for a Fitness Ambassador who is more than just staff, but the heartbeat of the club. This role is for someone who lights up a room, remembers names, and makes people feel instantly comfortable. The Fitness Ambassador is the first hello, the go-to helper, the motivator, and the friendly face that keeps members coming back. This is the perfect entry-level role to kick-start a career in fitness, leadership, or wellness. As a Fitness Ambassador, you’ll be connecting with members and keeping the club buzzing with positive energy. You will greet members with enthusiasm, be a visible and approachable presence on the fitness floor, assist with check-ins and member needs, and promote programs, events, and club offerings. You will also help maintain a clean, safe, and motivating environment and build relationships with members. Essential Job Functions include Fitness Floor Engagement, where you will facilitate PE@PF fitness programs and assist members with fitness programs through the Planet Fitness App, provide orientation and guidance to new members on basic workout routines and equipment use, demonstrate basic knowledge of cardio, strength, and functional training equipment, and assist members with proper equipment use and safe techniques. You will also support member retention by building rapport and encouraging positive workout experiences. Member Experience & Customer Service involves greeting all members with enthusiasm, professionalism, and courtesy, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, engaging with members on the fitness floor to provide encouragement and support, promoting club programs, personal training services, and special events, and assisting with member check-ins, club tours, info calls, account inquiries, and membership updates. Cleanliness & Safety includes performing routine cleaning and sanitization of equipment, locker rooms, and high-touch areas, conducting light maintenance checks and promptly reporting any issues, and maintaining a safe, organized, and visually appealing club environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must complete fitness training certification (NCSF) and manufacturer specific equipment training within 90 days of hire
• Must be able to perform and demonstrate a wide range of exercises, including strength, cardio, and flexibility movements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (often 4–8 hours per shift) while engaging with members on the fitness floor
• Capability to lift, move, and safely adjust fitness equipment weighing up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or fitness preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently
• Passion for fitness and helping others; willingness to learn basic training techniques (certification not required but encouraged)
