About The Position

We’re looking for a Fitness Ambassador who is the heartbeat of the club, embodying the energy and welcome that makes members love coming in. This role is perfect for someone outgoing, active, and passionate about creating positive vibes. As the first hello, go-to helper, and motivator, you’ll be the friendly face that ensures members return. This is an ideal entry-level position for a career in fitness, leadership, or wellness, requiring great energy and a people-first mindset over prior experience. You will connect with members, keep the club buzzing with positive energy, assist with check-ins and member needs, promote club offerings, and help maintain a clean and motivating environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or fitness preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
• Passion for fitness and helping others; willingness to learn basic training techniques (certification not required but encouraged).
• Must be able to perform and demonstrate a wide range of exercises, including strength, cardio, and flexibility movements.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (often 4–8 hours per shift) while engaging with members on the fitness floor.
• Capability to lift, move, and adjust fitness equipment weighing up to 50 lbs safely.
• Must complete fitness training certification (NCSF) and manufacturer specific equipment training within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Certification with NCSF or other Nationally Accredited Certification.

Responsibilities

• Greet members with enthusiasm and make everyone feel welcome.
• Be a visible, approachable presence on the fitness floor.
• Assist with check-ins, questions, and member needs.
• Promote programs, events, and club offerings.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and motivating environment.
• Build relationships with members, know their names, celebrate wins, and encourage progress.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of cardio, strength, and functional training equipment.
• Assist members with proper equipment use and safe techniques.
• Support member retention by building rapport and encouraging positive workout experiences.
• Provide orientation and guidance to new members on basic workout routines and equipment use.
• Facilitate PE@PF fitness programs and assist members with fitness programs through the Planet Fitness App.
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of equipment, locker rooms, and high-touch areas.
• Conduct light maintenance checks and promptly report any issues.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and visually appealing club environment.
