About The Position

The Fishing Sales Outfitter performs various Selling / Customer Service activities, to include greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, providing information, assistance, and direction to customers. This role supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. The associate will demonstrate product, replenish shelves, remain a product expert through ongoing training, and stay knowledgeable of advertised sales and pricing. They will also assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves, restock merchandise, and keep their work area clean and organized. The associate is expected to follow all Company Policies and Procedures and provide a legendary experience for every customer by identifying and evaluating customer needs, making product recommendations, and promoting company programs like CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School education or equivalent experience
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change to customers
Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to our customers and other associates
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, coworkers and customers
Ability to operate computerized Point of Sale register system
Constantly stand and/or walk during shift
Communicate with others to exchange information
Repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Operate machinery and/or power tools
Operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment
Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds constantly, may occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed)
Work in tight and confined spaces
Work in noisy environments

Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments.
Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Responsibilities

Greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner
Handling merchandise with care

Demonstrating product to customers
Replenishing product on shelves as required per Merchandising guidelines
Remaining Product “expert” through ongoing product knowledge training
Remaining knowledgeable of advertised sales; maintaining pricing and signing
Assisting with "Seasonal" floor merchandise moves
Restocking merchandise as required
Keeping work area clean, neat and well stocked with supplies
Following all Company Policies and Procedures
Identifying and evaluating customers' needs
Making product recommendations based off of customer needs analysis
Promoting programs including, but not limited to CLUB Membership, VOC and In-Store Pick-up
