About The Position
The Fish Screening Technician (Fish and Wildlife Technician) will work 4 - 10hr shifts implementing the construction, installation, operation and maintenance of fish screens and fish passage devices in Southern Oregon. This role involves working outdoors and may require operating heavy equipment and welding.
Requirements
- Eighteen months of fisheries experience, care of livestock, agricultural research and experimentation, monitoring game or wildlife, or farming.
- An Associate’s degree in Fisheries Technology, Aquaculture, Aquarium Science, Wildlife Technology, or Agriculture; Equivalency Note: A higher-level degree in Fisheries Science or a closely-related degree with at least 45 quarter (30 semester) hours of biological/ecological coursework will substitute for the Associate's degree.
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Experience using a Metallic Inert Gas (MIG), Plasma cutter, arc welder and cutting torches
- Experience forming, pouring and finishing concrete
- Experience operating heavy equipment (such as dump truck, boom truck, forklift and backhoe)
- Experience writing progress or technical reports
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Experience troubleshooting solar/electrical systems
