As a result of our robust growth, we are seeking a Fish Health Technician to join our Fish Health Team. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail-oriented team player with the ability to work flexible hours, travel as required, and adapt to both field and laboratory environments.

Requirements

  • Secondary education diploma required
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and travelling between sites
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping
  • Must be willing to work flexible or irregular hours, including occasional overnight travel
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • post-secondary training in aquaculture, biology, or a related field considered an asset
  • Aquaculture Technician Certificate or Diploma preferred
  • Experience in fish farming, fish health, or laboratory work considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Marine site visits to conduct sea lice counts and disease surveillance sampling
  • Hatchery visits to collect samples for disease surveillance, vaccine side-effects scoring, and broodstock sampling
  • Laboratory duties such as laboratory sample preparation, organization, and shipping
  • Recording, organizing, and entering fish health data with a high degree of accuracy
  • Supporting field investigations and fish health assessments as required
  • Maintaining equipment, supplies, and documentation related to fish health operations
