About The Position

The Fiscal Technician Senior provides fiscal support to accurately and efficiently record and balance financial activities. The role ensures proper case management procedures are followed and reviews, analyzes, and processes data and reports in accordance with Department of Corrections and Department of Accounts policies and procedures. The position is at Buckingham Correctional Center with the Virginia Department of Corrections.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in an accounting or bookkeeping setting performing detailed work with numerical data and mathematical calculations.
• Recent experience using basic office equipment, including operating a 10-key calculator.
• Recent working knowledge of office procedures, data entry, and record maintenance.
• Demonstrated skill using Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Nice To Haves

• Additional knowledge of accounting or bookkeeping, or equivalent training and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Commonwealth Financial Programs, including CARDINAL, FAACS, Offender Trust, and Offender Pay.
• Knowledge of Commonwealth travel policies.
• Supervisory experience.
