Requirements

  • Formal education equivalent to a high school diploma; plus, six months experience in a clerical field or related area.
  • Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of general information technology concepts and various software
  • Knowledge of customer service techniques
  • Ability to apply knowledge base comprehensively
  • Team player who seeks out ways to help the Department during downtime
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday, banking and or cashiering.

Responsibilities

  • Primary cashier for the University and first line customer service.
  • Responsible for primary cashiering operations to include managing and balancing a cash drawer.
  • Assist students with questions or concerns about their student account.
  • Corresponds by email or mail with students about refund checks and customers outside the University about checks received.
  • Receipts a variety of checks, some of which are student payments, outside scholarships, departmental deposits and student organization deposits.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates.
  • Works with Finance staff in researching issues and ensuring proper coding of receipts.
  • Requires consistent on-time attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
