About The Position

Bishop Gadsden, a leading life care retirement community, is seeking a First Responder for its Community Response Team. This role is crucial for maintaining safety and security across the community's buildings and grounds. The First Responder will patrol the community, provide a visible presence to ensure resident safety, respond to emergencies, and assist with various security-related tasks.

Requirements

At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
General experience in security preferred.
Valid SC driver’s license.
Able to successfully complete training and be certified in Advanced First Aid (first responder) within 90 days of hiring date.
Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and Bishop Gadsden employees.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written.
Ability to lift and/or carry weights of up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Patrol halls and grounds of community on a regular basis throughout shift according to standard procedure.
Provide high visibility and presence to assure residents of caution and care.
Complete incident reports as needed.
Respond to emergency pager according to procedure.
Follow procedure for emergency including directing EMS if needed.
Deliver prescription and other deliveries after hours if needed.
Assist in checking residences if unusual situations warrant and require.
Conduct and perform fire drills according to procedure.
Check fire extinguishers and assist in monthly and annual inspections.
Trap and neutralize wildlife as necessary.
