To qualify, candidates must be 21 years or older and will progress through the program based on the rigorous standards set by the CEMC Apprenticeship Committee and the U.S. Department of Labor. As an apprentice, you will engage deeply in both practical work and theoretical study, maintaining open communication with your supervisor regarding your advancement. Throughout your training, you'll benefit from the guidance of skilled professionals, ensuring a thorough understanding of the craft. However, it's crucial to remain committed; should you choose not to advance or fail to meet the qualifications expected of a Journeyman Lineman, termination may occur. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Class A Interstate Commercial Driver's License with a 57 Restriction, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days.
  • Reside within a 30-minute radius of the assigned office, or willing to relocate to meet the 30-minute radius.
  • Climbing Certification REQUIRED.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Knowledge of rescue techniques.
  • Familiarity with electric utility operations, line construction, and maintenance practices.
  • Teamwork ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Proficiency with applicable software and tools.
