About The Position

The First Mate is responsible for the operation and safety of the property’s vessel. This person should work in a safe manner consistent with USCG regulations. Daily maintenance inspections are required to ensure the vessel operates correctly. The role also demands a high level of customer service for passengers aboard the vessel. The First Mate should be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• First mate experience preferred
• Enrolled in APCA Drug Consortium
• Strong knowledge of boating
• Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season
• Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds
• Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in instances of emergency
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
• Must be able to work flexible hours based on the needs of the property to include weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Daily operation of vessel
• Meet and greet customers both as they arrive and depart the vessel
• Coordinate line-handling when coming to dock, anchoring, deck maintenance and safety
