About The Position

Monticello Spring Corporation seeks a First Line Supervisor of Production & Operating Workers with multiple openings in Monticello, Indiana. This role involves developing coiling operators, creating standard operation sheets, troubleshooting machine setup issues, executing the production plan for compression equipment, conducting improvement studies on setup times and processes, and participating in new project/product launches. The supervisor will also evaluate master samples, ensure routine safety, order, and cleanliness, and train others on these principles. A key aspect of the role is ensuring quality and safety standards are met for all plant products and processes.

Requirements

  • Utilize Spring Theory.
  • Utilize the spring production processes (grinding, shot peening, heat-setting) and measuring instruments.
  • Read and interpret customer drawings.
  • Read and interpret Monticello internal specifications.
  • Utilize coiling setup and verification.
  • Skilled in machine types: HTC-8, HTC-10, HTC-25/28, HTC-30PX, KHM-508, KHM-516, KHM-528, HTC-60, SHA-950, SHA-980, Simplex A/7, Wafios FUL.
  • 6 months of experience as Team Leader, Production Leader, or other related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop other coiling operators and evaluate their progress.
  • Develop standard operation sheets for the instruction of equipment setups.
  • Utilize knowledge to detect possible anomalies or conflicts in the planning of machine setups to problem solve challenges.
  • Execute the Production Plan of the Compression equipment.
  • Carry out improvement studies in setup times and process improvements.
  • Actively participate in the launch of new projects/products.
  • Evaluate the development and definition of master samples.
  • Carry out safety, order and cleanliness on a routine basis and train based on these principles.
  • Ensure that quality and safety standards are met for the different products and processes of the plant.
  • Onboarding of new machines.
  • Tooling Preparation, Installation and Refurbishment.
  • On-Machine Gauging Systems.
  • Autonomous and Preventive Machine Maintenance.
  • Product Quality - Use measurement systems, Understand measurement error, Use micrometers and calipers, Use load testing instruments, Document part quality related data, Perform in-process part checking, Evaluate/identify part quality problems, Identify and correct source of part quality problems.
