About The Position

The First Impressions Specialist at the Tolleson Family Activity Building is responsible for creating a welcoming and hospitable experience for every guest, member, and caller. This role involves providing exceptional service, helpful information, and fostering connections to the ministries and mission of HPUMC. The position is non-exempt and part-time, with usual working hours Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am - 1:30 pm. Additional hours may be necessary during certain times of the year, and all staff are expected to support religious holidays and worship services, including Christmas Eve and Easter. Working hours may be adjusted as needed to meet ministry and program needs.

Requirements

  • Some College
  • Previous customer service experience highly preferred
  • Effective Communication - Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
  • Professionalism - Good first impression, professional appearance and attitude, on-time arrival
  • Interpersonal Aplomb - Collaborates easily and can gracefully handle tense situations
  • Multitasking Capabilities - Manage lots of activity without getting flustered, capable of problem-solving
  • Must be a committed Christian comfortable working in a United Methodist church environment.

  • Preferred Software Experience: G Suite (Google, Gmail, Calendar, etc…)
  • Espace - Calendar Management software

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience at HPUMC.
  • Warmly welcome and greet every guest who enters the Tolleson building, creating a hospitable and inviting first impression.
  • Provide accurate information about HPUMC’s ministries, programs, events, and services to guests and callers.
  • Assist guests in navigating the campus and locating their destination.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby environment that reflects HPUMC’s commitment to hospitality.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
