About The Position

Requirements

• Previous baking experience in high volume production
• Knowledge of mixing techniques for various yeast breads and quick breads
• Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an asset
• Red Seal Certificate (Journeyman’s papers) or Recognized International Equivalent considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Supports in preparation and baking of all bakery items for menu and catered events
• Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
• Understand and work by Baker’s Percentages
• Knowledge of mixing techniques for sponges, breads, mousses, etc.
• Ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard
• Assumes responsibility for the basic operations of his/her station for short periods when required in the absence of the Chef De Partie or Demi – CDP
