About The Position

This position is for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses. The First Aid Responder applies compresses and assists in various other basic treatments such as providing aspirin-free pain relievers, cleaning minor wounds and abrasions, and applying band-aids. The role involves taking and recording guest/employee temperature and any other observed symptoms regarding an injury or illness. The responder will record injury and illness incidents and submit them to the manager of the safety Department. They will observe guests/employees and report any adverse reactions to the supervisor. Follow-up with the Safety Committee and report updates to the Compensation Department is also a responsibility. The role requires assembling and using various types of first aid materials and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have a good working knowledge and understanding of basic First Aid operations, treatments and procedures.
  • Must be familiar with the various cultural traditions and attitudes of Pacific Island and Pacific Rim countries.
  • Must be able to become First Aid and CPR certified.
  • Must be capable of a full range of body movement.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in English.
  • Should be a high school graduate or the equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable but not required.
  • First Aid/ CPR/ AED certified.
  • Prior work experience.
  • Proficient in English with strong writing skills.
  • Must attach Resume and current semester class schedule (weekly view).
  • Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks.
