About The Position

Wipro Limited is seeking a Firmware Lead Engineer with strong C/C++ programming skills. This role involves facilitating application solutions by developing and reviewing module-level codes, creating replication patterns, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure stable, well-documented deliverables that meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in embedded systems, firmware development, board bring-up, hardware-software debugging, and low-level programming. The role also includes performing daily firmware builds and validations, supporting firmware releases, and publishing release notes.

Requirements

  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Ability to clear a Codility assessment.
  • Hands-on experience in embedded systems, firmware development, board bring-up, hardware-software debugging, and low-level programming.
  • Work in a C/C++ firmware environment similar to EDK2/UEFI.
  • Strong understanding of embedded C, memory management and register-level programming.
  • Experience with peripheral interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, etc.
  • Ability to debug firmware using JTAG, debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers on board bring-up and HW/SW co-debugging.
  • Embedded System Software Testing.
  • 5-8 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering of requirements for specific modules and ensuring clear, structured documentation.
  • Working across multiple business processes to capture linkages, dependencies, and required changes.
  • Facilitating the creation of application solution designs for a specific module under the guidance of the Project Manager.
  • Reviewing developed codes and resolving technical queries of the team for the assigned module.
  • Creating consistent replication patterns to ensure developed code aligns with project standards.
  • Collaborating with project managers through all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Performing root-cause analysis to identify and troubleshoot recurring technical issues.
  • Modifying software codes to resolve errors, adapt to new hardware and software, enhance performance, and upgrade interfaces.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to validate configurations, facilitate integration of new applications, and address dependencies during deployment.
  • Preparing user training documents and related frameworks to ensure smooth adoption of new applications and minimize transition risks.
  • Creating and maintaining firmware targets for new products.
  • Adapting and validating firmware for new hardware platforms.
  • Performing daily firmware builds and validations.
  • Supporting firmware releases and deployment activities.
  • Publishing release notes and tracking firmware changes.
